Barnard Park is the larger of the two park spaces offered in Goffstown. This park, has so much to offer including: a full football field enclosed by a recently redone sports track, a pavilion, playground, tennis courts, beach volleyball net, and a multi-depth pool with a diving board. This is one of the two locations for our annual summer playground programs. Dogs are allowed in the park, but must remain leashed and off the track at all times. Glen Lake is the collection of the Piscataquog River right outside the center of town. Main access to the lake, including a boat ramp, beach area, and resident parking can be found at 300 Elm Street Goffstown, NH 03045.

Glen Lake Boat Ramp

The Goffstown Public Library is located in the center town. Memberships are free for town residents and the library offers lots of great events and programs within the community. Goffstown’s Rail Trail is a 5.5 mile, multi-purpose, public path that stretches from the Goffstown village to the Manchester city line. The trail is generally flat and follows a gentle grade perfect for all ages and activity levels. Walking, running, and biking are allowed on the trail as well as pets. Please be sure to pick up after your animals, there are no disposal sites along the trail. The Goffstown Rail Trail is owned by the town and it is run and maintained by the Friends of the Goffstown Rail Trail. ICE CONDITIONS: OPEN!

Our outdoor ice rink will be open to the public as the weather and temperature allows. The rink is located adjacent to the Recreation Building on 155 S Mast St. We will perform maintenance on the ice in the morning hours.

We have two classifications to allow the multitude of public skating abilities and desires. We do not police the daily use of the rink, so please be respectful to scheduled times and follow all rules and postings. Failure to comply with the rules and skate times can result in loss of ice usage for the remainder of the season. There are lights for skating during the night hours.

Free Skate: For any age. NO Sticks or Pucks. This is a time for individuals to enjoy the recreation of skating or learn how to skate.

Hockey: For any age. This is a time for individuals to play games or practice with a stick and puck.

Ice Rink

Located down the road from Sarette fields, this stand-alone baseball field has dugouts, a backstop, and an outfield fence. It is mainly used by the independent Goffstown junior baseball program. Use of this field for teams and organized sports is through reservation ONLY. Please contact program supervisor for information and availability.

Parking passes for the 2023-24 school year will come on a first come, first serve basis. There will be parking available at both Barnard Park and the Parks and Recreation building. There will be 25 spots available at Barnard Park and 10 spots available at the Parks and Recreation building.

Registration for the parking passes is open now. All parking pass permits will be given out through our RecDesk program here: https://goffstown.recdesk.com/Community/Program?category=1. If you do not have an account for this site, you will need to create one and be approved before you can register for a pass. The student who will be using the pass, needs to be included on the account. Be sure to use an email address that is checked frequently as that is how we contact the students/families and relay important information.

When reserving a parking pass the student must already have their license at the time of reservation. The wait list is available for those who wish to try and reserve a spot after they get their license. If you wish to be put on the waitlist please contact Erin Trnka, her email is below.

The pass is $55 for the entire school year. Please note that the pass must be paid for before it can be picked up.

The parks and recreation building in Goffstown houses the main offices for the director, program supervisor, and facilities supervisor. The building also offers spaces that include a conference room, small gymnasium, and outdoor grass space. All are available for reservations, please contact the program supervisor for fees and availability.

Roy Park is the second park location located in Pinardville on the Goffstown/Manchester line. This park includes a pavilion, playground, multi-depth pool with a diving board, and a softball/all-purpose field. This is the second location for our summer playground program. This field complex holds three multi-use fields. The lower field is smaller in size and is used for junior sports. The middle and football fields are the same size and used for older levels of various sports. This complex is the main facility for the lacrosse and soccer programs in Goffstown. Both Roy and Barnard Pool are closed for the 2023 Season. See you in 2024 sometime in June. Look for updates beginning June 2024. Both pool areas include pool decks for sitting or lying as well as bathrooms.

Pool Guidelines:

Lifeguard staff MUST BE obeyed at all times, failure to comply will result in expulsion from the facility.

Behavior:

  • No running anywhere in the pool area

  • No roughhousing in the pool or surrounding pool area.

  • No screaming or yelling. This can distract lifeguards from real emergencies.

  • Swimmers must swim in designated areas at the lifeguard’s discretion

Swim Attire:

  • Only hygienic attire specifically designated for swimming will be allowed

  • T-shirts and cut-off shirts are NOT to be worn in pool water. Swim shirts are permitted.

  • Cloth or disposable diapers are NOT PERMITTED in the pools. Swim diapers are allowed.

  • Any swimwear that may lead to personal endangerment or entrapment will NOT be permitted.

  • Children requiring floatation assistance may wear a coast guard approved swimsuit/vest. A parent or guardian must be in the water –Shallow end only—with any child wearing this type of device AT ALL TIMES. The above listed floatation device must be properly fitting.
