The patrol division is the biggest division in the Goffstown Police Department.

The Patrol Division includes all uniformed patrol officers, the motorcycle unit, and the bike patrols. Officers are generally dispatched to calls for service by the Communications Division

Investigations are very labor intensive. Cases require an enormous amount of time and resources. Most complicated cases and all major crimes are handled in this Division, which include child abuse and neglect, sexual assaults, identity theft, drugs, gambling, burglary, robbery, white-collar and vice crimes.

Public Safety Dispatchers, also known as Communications Specialists, are the vital link between the public and police officers, firefighters and emergency medical technicians. To be a dispatcher, you need to be a person capable of making decisions, multi-tasking and staying calm. It can be fast-paced and exciting. Dispatchers answer phone calls, evaluate the type of call and dispatch the information to the public safety personnel that will respond.

Project DARE (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a substance use prevention education program designed to equip elementary school children with skills for resisting peer pressure to experiment with tobacco, drugs, and alcohol. This program is a cooperative effort by the Goffstown Police Department and the Goffstown School District, which uses uniformed law enforcement officers to teach a formal curriculum to students in a classroom setting.
