Streets & Drains

Streets & Drains Division

The Streets and Drains Division of Goffstown Public Works has the responsibility of maintaining all of the town roads and drainage structures. Each summer, roads are prioritized for maintenance according to the Infrastructure Maintenance Plan. Data is gathered every couple of years on the condition of our roads. This information is entered into a computer program. The program takes into account the road conditions, traffic volume, and roughness, and prioritizes the worst roads. Through the reclamation and resurfacing budgets provided for in the CIP budget, the division does its best to keep up the road conditions.

The Streets and Drains Division also oversees the snow removal operations in the winter. If you have any questions please email the department or call 603-497-3617.

Paving List

Please note that in the Road Plan Map, some layers will be hidden under others. For instance, if a road has been reclaimed (including base course pavement) and then top-coated the following year, the map will only show one of those layers on top (typically the reclaim layer).

Time to Fix Potholes

Please note that springtime repair to potholes has begun. We use a method called "mill and fill" where the pothole and some of the surrounding pavement are milled out and a permanent hot pavement patch is installed. This is much more effective and long-lasting than the "cold patch" and nitpick patching that we are forced to use during the winter months.

If you see a pothole in need of repair, feel free to call our office at 497-8990 ext 200 or by submitting a Work Order Request online. If no one is available, you can leave a message with the location and nearest house/business number. Don't forget to leave your name and number in case we need to call you back to verify the location.

Work is scheduled Monday through Thursday for several weeks from 7 am - 4:30 pm DPW will focus on main roads first and then move to side roads as needed. Expect traffic disruptions. Thank you for your patience.
